www2.ed.gov Federal Pell Grant Program

Government – state and federal grants and private grants are available to support your continuing education efforts. Please go to the government site of www2.ed.gov look under Programs, then Federal Pell Grant Program. Then make your application. It is free.

Pell Grants Help Pay for Education

A Pell Grant is a subsidy the U.S. federal government provides for students who need it to pay for college, Federal Pell Grants are limited to student with financial need, who have not earned their first bachelor’s degree, or who are enrolled in certain post-baccalaureate programs, though participating institutions. The Federal Pell Grants Programs provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate and certain post-baccalaureate students to promote access to post-secondary education. The amount depends on financial need, cost of attendance at the college/career school, and more.

U.S. Senator Claiborne Pell

The Pell Grant was named after Democratic U.S. Senator Claiborne Pell of Rhode Island, and was originally known as the Basic Educational Opportunity Grant. A Pell Grant is generally considered the foundation of a student’s financial aid package, to which other forms of aid are added. Do not be afraid to apply, what are you waiting for? The application process is FREE. A grant is FREE money, you do not ever have to pay it back after you are approved, therefore, it is a gift. In some situations the grant can be used for tuition, books, shelter, gas, vehicle and other things to help you through your studies. This is a great thing for the average person!
